Nuture your child's love for animals and nature with Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium's Zoo Troop programs. These programs use the Zoo as a classroom to encourage children of all ages to investigate, play and learn through hands-on activities and exploration.

Register for a Class
Classes for children up to 3 years of age. Pre-registration and payment is required. An adult must accompany the participant. The registration cost covers one adult and one child. Prices reflect the discounted member rate.
Stride into a world of discovery with a fun story to start your adventure then, walk, talk and learn about specific animals. Don't forget the stroller! Registration fee is $10 and includes one adult and one child. This program is geared toward toddlers ages 1 - 2.

Gather your gear and join our early explorers program for 2 to 3-year-old children. We will uncover a wide variety of topics including colors, patterns, shapes, habitats and biomes. Imagine the discoveries that will be made! Registration fee is $15 and includes one child and one adult.

Through science-based exploration and outdoor play, preschoolers and their caregivers will experience Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium using their senses. Each adventure begins with an opportunity to explore several learning stations based on the adventures theme where children can practice fine motor skills, sensory investigation, creativity, and pre-math and literacy skills. Station time is followed by an opening circle, listening to a story and further exploring the weekly theme.
Amazing Amphibians - July 19
There is definitely more than meets the eye, with these real-life transformers. Your student is sure to have a toad-ally fun learning experience as we compete with different frog species to see who the better jumper is or practice our best frog calls.
Fish Frenzy - August 16
Fish are well equipped to live in the water. Have your student join our school of fish as they create their own fish model to take home.
Born to be Wild - September 20
Let's learn all about animal babies at the Zoo! This class introduces the basic concepts of life cycles, including metamorphosis, in both invertebrates and vertebrates.
Night Prowl - October 18
When the sun goes down, our adventure will begin! Learn why some plants and animals prefer the dark and the adaptations these species use to survive at night.
Jungle Boogie - November 15
With a hop, skip and a jump, your child will explore critter moves and grooves! We will highlight some of the animal kingdom's greatest performers.
Zoo Troop Pounce programs are for children ages 6 - 11. Pre-registration and payment of $20 per child per session is required (unless otherwise noted). Prices reflect the discount member rate.
L.I.O.N. Zoo Troop is a series-based class where children learn to understand and respect the world around them through exploration and up-close animal encounters. Kids will be challenged to work together, get outside and have fun!
Our planet is a vast, watery world full of unexplored places and yet-to-be-discovered creatures. Join us for this semester-long program which focuses on helping budding scientists and animal enthusiasts build their knowledge, explore careers in marine science and develop an appreciation for our oceans.
What Will Students Learn? Marine Biology Academy students learn about how researchers study marine animals and tools they use, meet animal care staff who work with marine animals, study ocean animal adaptations, learn about conservation, explore freshwater and marine ecosystem connections and more.
What is Included? Each student will receive a Marine Biology Academy t-shirt, special experiences with Zoo staff, behind the scenes tour (behind the scenes tours are not available for 6-8-year-old ages) and other conservation-related ocean items. Marine Biology Academy classes are capped at 18 participants to allow for more individualized learning experiences.
What is the Fee? Fees are as follows. Program is non-refundable once it begins, and all sales are final. Under extenuating circumstances, a partial refund minus a $30 administrative fee may be issued if we are able to fill your spot.

Family Zoo Adventures are geared toward families with children. Pre-registration and payment of $16 per participant. Enjoy a full breakfast surrounded by sharks, sea turtles and all of your favorite sea creatures! You'll get to explore the Scott Aquarium before Zoo hours and visit ocean experience stations. Breakfast menu can be shared upon request.
