KINDER SAFARI CAMP (potty trained 3-5 year olds)
Explore the wonderful world of animals through camp adventures that include animal encounters, habitat visits, games, and edible food crafts!
Around the World at Kinder Safari Camp 2018
Grab your passports and get ready for an interactive safari at our 5-day summer camps for (potty trained) 3-5 year olds. Children will enjoy a story, take home craft, animal ambassador visit or a keeper talk, songs and games. All Kinder Safari camps are 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. Cost: $85 per child per camp ($95 non-members).
Rocking in the Rainforest - Get your dancing shoes on and explore the rainforest with us.
Commotion in the Ocean - Bathing suits, fins, sand and sun. Explore the ocean and all of its sea life.
Jiving in the Jungle - Grab your gear and go on an adventure in the jungle.
Dancing in the Desert - Get ready for fun in the sand and sun.
Galloping in the Grasslands - Explore the savanna with us and discover African animals and culture.

Polar Opposites - Explore animals of the Arctic and Antarctic. Begin your adventure in the Arctic where you will encounter the elusive polar bear. Then, travel all the way to Antarctica to study penguins!

Under the Sea Overnight - Explore the sights, sounds and smells of the ocean! Discover many of the amazing animals that live here and discover how the ocean impacts our lives every day! Includes an overnight on Friday in the Scott Aquarium. Pizza dinner and continental breakfast provided during the sleepover. One adult is included in the cost and is required to attend overnight (beginning at 6:00 p.m.). Cost per child: $100 ($110 non-members).

Wildlife Ranger Day Camp - Become a wildlife ranger and join us on a North American expedition. Start the excursion traveling from the Zoo to Wildlife Safari Park. Learn about animal conservation and gain field work experience. End the day by winding through bison plains and then head back to the Zoo. Campers will meet at the Zoo and be transferred to Wildlife Safari Park near Ashland, NE via bus. Camp starts at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 3:30 p.m. Cost is $75 per camp (unless otherwise noted) for Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium members and $80 for nonmembers. Zoolympics Camp – How do your abilities match up against our amazing animal athletes? Meet world-class animal gymnasts, long jumpers, speed racers, distance runners, and problem solvers. Campers will test their skills and see if they’ve got what it takes to walk away with gold.

Jr. Zoo Vet – So you think you want to be a veterinarian? Join us for this exciting camp where we will discover what it takes to be in this rewarding and challenging field. Learn how to identify symptoms of sick animals, conduct exams, learn how to suture and give injections using fruit, look at x-rays, and more! Students will not have direct contact with animals.

Winging It – Explore the hundreds of types of birds found at the Zoo! Find out just how strong an ostrich egg is compared to a chicken egg, then closely examine feathers to find out why some birds are excellent flyers while others are better swimmers.

African Safari – Grab your passport and get ready to explore! We’ll travel to Africa without even leaving the Zoo! Learn about elephants, ostriches, lions, giraffes and more. Discover different cultures and traditions through art, stories and songs.

Camps for children ages 9-11 and 12-14 run from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. and cost $185 per child ($195 non-members). Please respect age restrictions. *Specialty camps cost $220 per child ($230 non-members).
Junior Zookeeper (Specialty Camp) –Join us for this exciting camp where we will discover what it takes to be a zoo keeper. Campers are introduced to zoo keeping and animal nutrition, learn about animals, create enrichment and help tidy up some animal areas. Campers will have an amazing summer experience! Students will not have direct contact with animals, but will meet many of our Animal Ambassadors. This day camp is only offered for children ages 9-11. Cost: $220 per child ($230 non-members).
Around the World – Is it possible to visit all of the world’s continents in just one week? Find out how creatures from all walks of life have adapted to some of the world’s most beautiful and unlikely places to call home.
Week of Wildlife – Spend the week exploring the Zoo and discovering the diversity of the 20,000+ animals that call it home. Campers will go on adventures leading them through the rainforest, desert, ocean, grassland and more!
Keeper Camp (Specialty Camp) – Do you want to care for animals at the Zoo? Roll up your sleeves and learn about animal husbandry, feeding, training, and enrichment. Campers will meet with zoo keepers from various areas around the Zoo, explore the daily routines, take behind-the-scenes tours, and learn about the science behind successfully caring for over 20,000 animals at one of the world’s best zoos! This day camp is only offered for children ages 12-14. Cost: $220 per child ($230 non-members).
Marine Biology – This camp is designed to introduce students to the ocean and marine life. Campers will utilize aquarium facilities and take part in hands-on labs and workshops. This camp is an excellent way to introduce students to the marine environment, engage them in marine sciences, and spark interest of those with little previous exposure to the ocean.
Endangered Animals Camp – Campers will travel across many continents and meet the animals of the world who are facing tough times. Learn about projects and people in Omaha that are having a lasting impact and helping these species survive. Through activities and investigations campers will be instilled with awareness and a sense of empathy for the plight of animals around the world.
